Being pregnant in a pandemic has meant that a lot of normal pregnancy experiences have had to change. No baby showers, no guests, no spa days, solo doctor appointments, and no birthing classes. In light of things this is okay and at the end I’ll be so happy and grateful to have a healthy baby. But something that I was really hoping I could still do was a maternity shoot!

Enter one of my good friends Ania – from Ania Photography. Not only did she provide us with incredible maternity photos, but she made sure we were socially distanced and kept things safe and comfortable! I am so grateful to her work and for taking these photos of this special time.
I’ve known Ania since middle school and have watched with pride as her photography business grows and thrives. I took photos with Ania a few years ago and have watched her become even more confident in her craft and also in directing her subjects. She helped Ted and me feel comfortable, laughed with us when we did something awkward and helped us get the best photos possible.
For some background we took our photos near our town’s small historical district. I actually grew up right next to the old school house we took photos in front of so love how fitting it was. I used to play as a child around this school house and now get to take my maternity photos just in front. Talk about the circle of life!
