Matcha Green Tea Latte

I’m a big matcha lover and often experiment with adding this flavor into my baking and desserts. Matcha powder has so many health benefits and has been traditionally used for tea. To take this delicious beverage to the next level I’m sharing a recipe for my Matcha Green Tea Latte. This drink is delicious iced or hot depending on your mood and is a great alternative to coffee for when you want to mix things up. This does have caffeine in it so if you’re looking for a caffeine free alternative look elsewhere because in my house we run on caffeine 🙂

Isn’t matcha pretty ? This powder is such a gorgeous spring green color! 💚

Matcha Green Tea Latte Ingredients
  • 2 teaspoons matcha green tea powder – I’ve been using Rishi Sweet Matcha Tea – I love it because it has a bit of cane sugar in it and is pre sweetened.
  • 1 1/2 cups skim milk
  • Honey to taste

Directions

1. Heat up the milk until it begins to bubble and get frothy.

2. Once the milk is heated whisk in your matcha powder. Using a whisk is better than a spoon since green tea powder has a tendency to clump together after the milk is added. If you’re really fancy you can buy yourself a proper bamboo whisk set.

3. Add honey to taste – I like my green tea latte sweet so I add a lot !
