Petite Treats: Pear Tart

I’m starting a new blog series called “petite treats” (#petitetreats) and it is going to feature exactly what you would think —  my adventures in making beautiful sweets!  I’m not really a cake or cookies person but love fruit filled sweets like tarts and pies – so that’s what I’m going to focus on. This weekend I made a Pear Tart using a recipe I found on Pinterest from Bake or Break. Head on over there to view the recipe and directions for this delicious pear tart. What I love about this recipe is its simplicity and how elegant it looks once its completed.

The directions from Bake or Break were super easy for a new baker like me to follow. This tart turned out almost perfect – I think I would add some lemon to the cream cheese filling for a little bit more of a kick to the flavor, but other than that found it to be delicious. Ted walked into the kitchen as I was taking photos and I had to swat his hands away to keep him at bay.  I made this pear tart on a Saturday, and by Sunday I had only three pieces left. The best part? It was tastes light and refreshing and the recipe calls for ingredients that you are likely to already have lying around your kitchen. The only thing I had to go out and buy was the pears. I assume you can also use apples or even peaches which would look lovely for a summertime or autumn tart.

If you make it let me know how it goes — here is the final result below:
