Holiday Gingerbread Cookies

Holiday baking is one of my favorite things to do in December. I love spending my weekends chopping up ingredients and mixing batters. It calms me. Believe it or not this was my first time doing gingerbread cookies solo, and they turned out delicious! I’m convinced the success is the baking mix I found at my local grocery store. It’s the BEST and I wanted to share so read on for more details.

Gingerbread Ingredients

Directions

  1. Take your room temperature butter and with a hand held mixer blend the butter until creamy. Then add in and mix the egg.
  2. Add in the Foodstirs Gingerbread Mix and combine everything together. You can add in the water to help mix everything together. When the mixture becomes dough you’re done mixing!
  3. Chill the dough for at least 20 minutes and while it cools preheat your oven to 350 degrees F.
  4. Roll the dough about 1/4 of an inch thick and then use the cookie cutters of your choice to make your shapes. I found that I needed lots of flour to keep my dough from sticking. By the way, the dough smells heavenly
  5. Add your cookies to a parchment lined baking sheet and bake for 13-15 minutes. Before you add your icing be sure to let the cookies completely cool.
  6. Have fun decorating your cookies !

What I love about this recipe is how easy and quick it is. You basically just mix in the egg and butter with the mix and that’s it! The cookies came out so tasty with the perfect mix of ginger and other holiday spices.
