Autumn Inspired Simmer Pot

The weather has just gotten cooler this week and in an attempt to make my home smell cozy, I’ve tried a Fall inspired simmer pot. They are a super easy and clean way to scent your home. All you have to do is bring water to a boil and then drop in your ingredients. Let them boil for just a minute or two and then turn the fire down so the pot simmers. Just be sure to check on the water and refill it when necessary. That’s it! In a matter of minutes my home smelled amazing – even Ted like it 🙂

Simmer pot ingredients:
  • 3 orange peels
  • 2 cinnamon sticks
  • a pinchful of whole cloves
  • 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract

I think simmer pots also look really pretty. There are a bunch of recipes available online – check them out here and here. I especially love the look of Satori Design for Living’s Cranberry, Rosemary, and Cinnamon mix – it looks so pretty!

Enjoy – let me know if you try any good recipes!
